❤︎ 1. Who am I and why am I taking this class? ❤︎

  

  If you couldn't tell by the website URL or display name, my name is Emily Jaramillo and I'm currently a Junior at Everglades High School. My whole life I've grown up in South Florida with my parents and younger brother. My biological parents are from Argentina, but my dad had to stay behind due to his Visa being rejected. My step-father is from Colombia I basically consider him to be my real father since he's been in my life before I was even born. 

    I genuinely don't have many hobbies or extracurricular activities besides participating in community service, going to the gym, and making deliveries at my parent's business. I'm not anywhere close to representing the "classic rebellious high schooler" that gets portrayed in movies and TV shows, and I'm truly fine with that. I've always been focused in school and don't get into a lot of trouble, which my parents must be pretty happy about. Unfortunately, school causes a lot of anxiety and distress for me, but the gym has basically been an outlet for me to take out the stress rather than having a breakdown.

    Besides the obvious reason that I'm taking this class to complete my AICE classes to earn my diploma, I've always been interested in video editing and feel as though this class can help me out with my future classes and career path. I'm always thinking one step ahead as to what classes will truly benefit me or interest me, so I'm quite excited for a new experience. I don't mind writing blogs either and it's a nice and convenient way for me to dump all the thoughts out of my brain.
