Hi guys! I hope you're all doing well, and I'm excited to share my opinions with you regarding the transition videos of my peers! For this assignment, I commented on both Rebecca Aguirre's post and Luis Lastra's blog post, in which I reflected on the transitions that I enjoyed, as well as the emotions it evoked.

Rebecca Aguirre's Transition Comment:

You did a wonderful job Rebecca! Your actress is super pretty btw, I'd love to see more of her in the future ;). Out of the three transitions, I really loved the iris the most, as well as the match cut! They were quite impressive, especially for it being your first time filming something like this. Overall, there's quite a lot of emotions that can be felt through the screen. In the dissolve transition, I felt as though this clip was a lot more melancholic and reflective, or perhaps relaxing, as she's sitting on the ground and laying on the tree. Additionally, in the match cut, it's really cute how both people in the video seem to be content and laid back, and it also provides and interesting comparison between them.

Luis Lastra's Transition Comment:

Great job with this video Luis! I loved the smooth filming of the first clip and how you constantly keep Gabriel as close to the middle of the frame. The use of the "wipe down" transition provides a dramatic segue into the second shot, which is sure to capture the audience's eye. Furthermore, I was a big fan of the second transition of "wipe left", especially as you focused on the step that says "PASSION", which could give a further insight into the character's state of mind, considering that they're seeing staring off into the distance thoughtfully, as well as when he is sitting on the steps where he looks quite focused. However, I will admit that I wish there was more of a diverse mix of transitions, instead of using 2 wipe transitions. You still did some fantastic work on this post, and I can't wait to see more from you!
