🧠11. Big Brain Brainstorming ðŸ§

In the beginning of the year, since Rebecca and I heard about this project for Media Studies, we immediately had an idea , which is written in the first bullet point. For our ideas and brainstorming, we decided that we should create practical videos that we can actually do, rather than making crazy aspirations and not being able to accomplish them in the end. Both of us appreciate having good lighting, steady camera work, shots, and angles, along with having appropriate sounds (like diegetic, ambient, and synchronous sound). I also believe that we can agree on scrapping ideas if the scenery that we can work with doesn't exactly fit or match what we're going for, so that also contributed to our brainstorming session of exactly what we want to capture and portray.
Here are some ideas we came up with!
- Montage of a girl getting ready & getting stood up by her date (feature scenes of her getting ready, doing her makeup, getting up-close shots of her in the mirror and taking her time to get ready, then at the end of the montage it shows her sitting on the curb after waiting a few hours for her date to pick her up, looking defeated)
- A lonely girl that encapsulates her life on a daily basis on how alone she is in the world (dim lighting, solemn music, sitting alone in class with nobody to talk to)
- A student being burnt out with their busy schedule and showcasing the chaos (showcasing her at work, fast pacing music that builds up, jump cuts of her at work and school doing rigorous acts until she can't take it anymore)
- Cooking (or baking) or making clothes in a montage style to showcase the credits in unique ways (ex: including the title in a pot of boiling water?)
Obviously, we may develop new ideas and scrap our old ones, but I think we're both quite content with our brainstorming session and we have plenty of time to create even more ideas that will convey our appreciation for movie making! Thanks for tuning in as always, and I can't wait for you guys to see what we come up with!
