🌈 23. Color Use 🌈

Rebecca decided to use a photo of me sniffing my armpits from our film so..... PEEP THE HELLO KITTY IN THE CLOSET THOUGH ☺️

As I've mentioned in previous blog posts, we've used a LOT of saturated, dreamy colors in our film opener with purple, pinkish, and bluish colors. I feel like I might've said this already, but basically the hues that are featured in our film represent her character and emotions as a stressed student who dreads her entire day. We envision her as a very messy, disorganized, and chaotic person, so we use the purple to represent her sense of instability and emotionally restless (taken from the color theory). The slightly blue colors could represent her sadness and negativity that she's surrounded by, while the pinkish hues are an attempt to induce her calmness, despite all the disorder she experiences on a daily basis.

As for the costuming, the black hoodie is basically supposed to act as a mask and disguise her inner thoughts, as well as mourning her loss of happiness and joy. Her blue jeans don't really contribute much color theory-wise, since it's just representing her nonchalant personality - basically not caring and attempting to fit in.
