Smelly teenage bedrooms cause sleep problems

Our character, Cathy, is an overwhelmed, emotional teenager in her high school years who struggles with the toppling struggles of work. Basically, she's just a regular, messy teenager who aspires to be organized and somewhat perfect, which is why we landed on the title of the movie as "Chasing Perfection". From my perspective, she views this goal as something unobtainable and impossible with everything chaotic occurring in her life, but she is desperately trying to reach that idea.

As I mentioned in the costuming post, our character Cathy doesn't wear any sort of jewelry since her whole character revolves around being a messy person, so she doesn't really have a lot of time to worry about her looks or seeming "put together". Instead, her whole style kind of revolves around that whole "I don't really care" sort of atmosphere. Her hair is also quite messy and poofy, and later she just throws it into a messy bun.

Cathy is a little bit weird, and it's quite clear during a scene (which can be seen in the Storyboard Post) where she smells her armpit. This was done to show that she utilized comedy to compensate for her weaknesses, similar to how some describe using comedy kind of as a coping method - to cover up her disorganized character. She is meant to be relevant to regular people and display some somewhat disgusting behaviors in order to demonstrate to the spectator that they're not that dissimilar from other people. Basically, I just wanted to show that people going through a rut or a rough patch are not alone, and that others can relate to them.
