πŸ’¨ 27. Title Sequence πŸ’¨

While this photo might seem like our final product, it's DEFINITELY NOT. But it looks pretty cool right? We've done quite a lot of thinking about the name of our project and how we'll present our title sequence, and originally we thought about creating an alarm clock title sequence, but later realized that it wouldn't fit the idea of our project. While the beginning of our film opener begins with a blinking alarm clock, it just felt like it wasn't exactly too connected with each other and we just scrapped it.

We landed on the title of our film opener, "Chasing Perfection" but recently we decided that we didn't want that either. While we originally LOVED our title and how it fit with our project, we've expanded a lot on our idea since then. Rebecca and I are constantly looking for ways on how we can improve on our project and elevate it somehow to our standards, so pretty much every time we're in our Media Studies class we discuss new concepts or tweaks we should do. This time, however, we arrived at the conclusion that it would be a good idea to change it up, thanks to a new idea that I brainstormed during one of my insomnia-ridden nights.

I'm a very imaginative person when it comes to creating scenarios in my head (and maybe it's the reason why I end up sleeping so late too), so here is the ending that leads up to the title sequence:

I don't want to spoil what happens in the middle of the film... you'll just have to wait and see!! Sorry to keep you on the edge but you'll be okay - at least I hope so.

In case you don't know what embers means (like myself), it's basically the pieces of coal that still have that glowing red color, but they're not on fire and they're not quite extinguished either. I feel like the title "Embers" or "Ember" is a much more fitting title for our film compared to "Chasing Perfection". Who knows, maybe in the future we'll brainstorm some more names, but for now I'd say that I'm pretty content with this new and updated title.

I don't think we've really landed on an exact font quite yet, but I feel like the colors and style - as I mentioned in the text messages above - should have a sort of smoky, fiery effect to symbolize being burnt out and eventually crashing. The whole sequence of the candle on the desk being burnt out by her fingers ties in perfectly with the title sequence and doesn't feel out of place.

Luckily, with Rebecca's top-tier, professional, superpower expertise in Premier Pro, she might be able to make our idea come alive. I feel like if I even attempted to make our title sequence, it would have a large probability of coming out like hot, steaming garbage, and I'm extremely thankful to have Rebecca as my partner. Okay I'll stop being all cheesy but anyways, I hope you guys are enjoying our little journey throughout all the chaos and I'll make sure to update you guys as soon as I can.

 Later guysssssss!!
