🏆 33. Finished Project Feelings! 🏆

Rebecca and I are honestly super relieved to have finished our project and it's pretty satisfying to see our project 100% completed. I really didn't think it would take this long but we're both really proud of the end result, even if it's not perfect. We finished all the filming on time and did it quite efficiently, so now we just have time to chill and focus on other school work (and finish these blog posts as well)!

Throughout this film, there have been a few ups and downs, a couple major changes, and lots of work! This was certainly a new and interesting experience that I never thought I would've been a part of, and I'm sure that the younger version of Emily would think that I'm insane for taking part in a film opener. Honestly, I think that my expectations from the beginning of this year would match up to this project, and I'm truly content with our hard work and dedication towards this film. Being a perfectionist and sort of nit-picking the details definitely helped us out in this project and ensured that our film would stay consistent and there would be little-to-no errors or goofs that the audience might be able to catch on (well... except for maybe some shots where I tend to have my glasses on or off... BUT I CAN'T DRIVE WITHOUT MY GLASSES I WOULD CRASH).

I feel like this also displays an important message for our audience, which is that mental health is a common occurrence that nearly everyone encounters some sort of issue, whether it be depression, anxiety, distress, and how important it is to take care of yourself. In the beginning of this film, I talked about how both Rebecca and I experienced issues regarding our mental health, so it made sense that we would make a film surrounding this topic. Everyone has ups and downs, but I feel like it's important to focus on another perspective of someone who constantly lives their days in misery and sadness and reaches to the point where they feel burnt out - hence our title "Embers".

In the end, I'd say we make an amazing duo for this project and I couldn't have asked for anyone else better to do it with. It's possible that we could've nearly perfected this project if we possibly had more time (or maybe less classes lol) but I believe everything happens for a reason. Honestly, now that we've finished this film opener, I've just been focused on the Summer! Anyways, I would definitely take this class again if I had the opportunity, and I've encouraged all of my classmates to take this class to discover your true creativity and to get a good idea of how well you manage with new experiences! There was quite a learning curve at first, but I feel like after the first round of filming it was quite easy to get the hang of it. It's sort of bittersweet to finally be done with this project, but it's been a wonderful chance to work alongside Rebecca and create something great as a team.
