❤️ 38. Final Goodbyes and Lessons Along the Way ❤️

While this blog post might be a little emotional... I have to admit that being done with these blog posts are making me pretty excited for this summer! It's been (what feels like) a long and painstaking journey, but we're finally here at the end. It's funny to think back on myself from August of 2022 knowing absolutely nothing about the process of filmmaking and all the thought and effort that gets poured into all kinds of movies, whether they have a crazy expensive budget or even a budget of $0, like me and Rebecca.

I've always thought that I'm a pretty thoughtful person and that I always try and find the deeper meanings in mundane things, especially the details that an ordinary person wouldn't catch on. And I'm happy to say that this class has definitely fed into my obsession of looking into the details, but it's a good thing! I love being able to decode the significance behind the use of colors in a film and discovering the metaphors that are hidden within TV shows and movies.

If I hadn't taken this class, I probably wouldn't have discovered some of my new favorite movies and shows. Not only that, but even for the shows that I've been watching for years, such as The Office, have been altered for me, and I now focus on camera shots all the time. Rather than focusing on the dialogue, I often find myself wondering how long it took them to film an entire episode and how the annoying process of storyboarding went for them. Oh yeah, and thanks to this class I also rediscovered that I still despise drawing pictures and making illustrations... thanks storyboards!

Overall, this class has completely flipped my perspective and I'm glad that I decided to take a class that was out of my comfort zone! It's honestly quite interesting to see the tiny steps we've taken along the year to slowly get introduced to our project and how we're able to have so much control with just a simple two-minute time frame. I also found it kinda funny how there's SOOOO much work going into a project that's just a total of two minutes, but I'd say that it was worth every second, even if it meant reversing into a trashcan 6 times just to get the perfect shot.

I hope you enjoyed this journey as much as I did, and I hope that you'll be satisfied with our hard work (which you'll finally be able to watch in the next blog post).

Have a great summer and remember to keep watching movies!!!!
